Abstract. This paper presents deforestation data year by year from 2002 to 2005 in the Ipixuna municipality located in southwest of the Amazon State, Brazil. It also describes the used methodology from the IBAMA-Cruzeiro do Sul to integrate previously given remote sensing data generated to the activities of field fiscalization. Images of the satellites Landsat and CBERS has been used to calculate the total area deforested in 2002 and from then on the annual increments up to 2005. The used method revealed efficient to optimize the field work increasing the agility and the reach of the actions of the IBAMA. The Ipixuna area presented an increase in the deforestation tax during the studied years and the accumulated deforested area in 2005 is of 11.117 hectars.
